Summary
NOTE: For customers on Avaya Call Reporting (ACR) version 4.0 and above, that have IP Office 11 version 11.0.4 or newer, or IP Office 10 version 10.1.0.5.0 or newer, there's an alternative recording solution available for use instead of Voicemail Pro recordings.
Active recording takes advantage of line-side recording where Avaya Call Reporting (ACR) receives audio and signaling files directly from the Phone via the same DevLink3 API connection we use to log calls.
Below is how we configure the connection:
Install the Recording Library process
Either on the same server as the ACR or on a separate server, install the Recording Library service. To obtain the necessary file, navigate to the OEM Downloads page and pull the necessary apps installer. Below are the articles you will need to install depending on your OS:
IPO Configurations
- To enable Active Recording to access the SIP traffic:
- Navigate within IPO Manager to IPO Configuration > System > LAN1 > VoIP and check the box for 'Enable SIP Registrar'
- NOTE: This must be configured on LAN1 as LAN2 will fail to send RTP data
- NOTE: This must be enabled on all nodes that have users that need to be recorded
- NOTE: Ensure in ACR's logging that ACR is logging on LAN1 and LAN2 for all IPO nodes.
- See below:
- Once enabled, this will require a PBX reboot which should normally occur after-hours
- Navigate within IPO Manager to IPO Configuration > System > LAN1 > VoIP and check the box for 'Enable SIP Registrar'
Connect the Recording Library process to the IP Office:
After connecting your IP Office to your ACR via DevLink3, open your ACR java client and proceed with the following steps:
- Navigate to Admin (System) -> System Settings -> Recording Libraries -> Recording Libraries (1 Recording Library) -> Add
- Here, you will select the DevLink Active Recording option.
- Once presented the screen below, you'll need to ensure that the Recording Library System ID is 1 and enter the IP address of the Recording Library server:
- NOTE: Ports 6970 and 5060 need to be open on the Recording Library server. These ports should also be open across the network between the Recording Library server and the IP Office.
- Set up Recording Rules for your new Recording Library connection, we recommend recording Talking events and selecting all the agents you would like to be recorded
- Once these settings have been configured, save the settings completely and you should now have recordings!
