Issue Description
For when you are unable to play recordings through the Cradle to Grave which produces an Audio Codec error.
Cause
No sound card on the affected computer, which most commonly is the Chronicall server. If you are on an end users machine, it may be a corrupt local Java file tied to the Chronicall Desktop installation. We recommend testing on another users machine to verify it is not a sound card issue.
Resolution
Play the audio file in Cradle to Grave from a computer with a working sound card.
Alternate Resolution
If the computer does have a valid working sound card, and others are able to play the recording, perform a clean wipe of Chronicall Desktop on the end users computer.
Alert: *Do Not Uninstall Chronicall On The Server! This is for an end user Chronicall Desktop installation.
Steps
Verify that a sound card is installed on the computer by trying to play audio from an audio source.
Try playing the recording while logged into the browser-based version of Chronicall. To do this, pull up Internet Explorer, and type in http://(ipaddressofCCserverhere):9080 and hit enter. Then log into Chronicall as normal.
You can also try playing the recording from another computer to narrow down the source of the issue.
If it still doesn't work, uninstall the desktop app, delete the .chronicall folder, reinstall the desktop app via this article Clean wipe and reinstall of Chronicall Desktop.
