IMPORTANT SECURITY UPDATE
As part of Xima’s ongoing commitment to keeping our platform secure, we are implementing an additional security measure for international calling.
Effective immediately, a PIN will be required for all calls placed to the Caribbean using the 1+ dialing format, just as it is currently required for 011 international calls.
Your calling experience will remain largely unchanged, with the PIN prompt appearing before the call is connected.
Need help placing an international call?
*As of January 2026 we have included high risk countries to the International Protected Calling
This guide explains how to make international calls using Xima's UCaaS platform. Before beginning, you must ensure that international calling is enabled on your account. It can be toggled on or off on a per-user basis by your account administrator.
Steps to Place an International Call
If you're not calling outside the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) you can skip to step 3
- Dial the US Exit Code: Initiate your call by dialing 011, the exit code for making international calls from the United States.
- Enter the Destination Country Code: Next, dial the country code for the destination you're calling. For instance, if you're calling Ireland, the country code would be 353.
- Dial the Area Code and Phone Number: Input the area code (if required) and the phone number of the individual or business you're contacting. Please note that the need for an area code and its format can vary by country.
- Enter Your PIN: If your account is PIN protected, the system will prompt you to input this number. The pin is the voicemail pin of the phone you are dialing from.
- Establish the Call: Once the PIN has been successfully entered, your call will connect. If the call fails to connect, you can find the reason code in your call history if you have Office Manager or higher user scope.
