Summary
This article covers the steps to manually migrate a Recording Library Installation and recording pool to a new Recording Library server.
Disregard the recording pool steps if your recording pool is stored on another server and not on the Recording Library server.
Steps
- First, we will want to make note of where your storage pool is. It is usually located in the Recording Library folder, but the 0 folder storage pool may be in another location. In Chronicall Desktop, navigate to the file path below to verify your storage pool location.
- Admin (System) > System Settings > Recording Libraries > Recording Libraries (...)
- Select the RL in question > Edit > Recording Storage Locations (...)
- Make note of where the recordings are stored, so you can place the 0 folder in the same file path on the new RL server
- NOTE: DO NOT modify the contents of the 0 folder, they are structured in a very specific way, and messing with them can break your storage pool
- Admin (System) > System Settings > Recording Libraries > Recording Libraries (...)
- Install the Recording Library app on the new server using the Chronicall App Installer downloaded here using your serial key https://forms.ximasoftware.com/chronicall_downloads
- Stop the Recording Library service on the new server, and copy over the recording library folder overwriting the new Recording Library folder.
- Note: You may want to migrate the 0 folder over ahead of time, this can be very time-consuming as it has to migrate every audio recording to the new server. This can take multiple hours.
- Once everything is copied over to the same file paths (Recording Library folder and recording pool {0 folder}). Start up the services again and verify it is working.
- It should as long as the library folder and 0 folder have the same file path as they did on the previous server as you start up the RL service.
- Log into Chronicall and check the bell to ensure the Recording Library is showing as connected as well. It should show Running if all is well.
