Chronicall / ACR 3.12.3 and above
In Chronicall / ACR 3.12.3 and older the recover trick (username: recover password: recover) no longer work natively. Instead, you will need to create a temporary file in order to gain access to Chronicall again.
- Navigate to the base Chronicall / ACR folder
- Usually located in:
- C:\Program Files\Chronicall
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Xima Software\Chronicall
- C:\Program Files\Avaya Call Reporting
- Usually located in:
- Create a blank recover.temp file and place it into that folder
- Open up a notepad file as an Administrator and save the blank file with the Save As... option
- Give it the File name of recover.temp & "Save as type:" using All Files (*.*) instead of with a .txt extension
- If you cannot save the file to the Chronicall / ACR directory, simply save it to the Desktop and manually move the file into the directory
- Open up a notepad file as an Administrator and save the blank file with the Save As... option
- Try to login again using recover as both the username and password
- The recover.temp file will be automatically deleted on successful login
- Reset your password by navigating to the User Account(s) needing the password change and update the password
Chronicall / ACR 3.12.2 and below
Passwords stored in Chronicall / ACR cannot be directly recovered, but they can be changed. If you have normal user access privileges, ask a manager or administrator to help you change your password.
This can be done by going into the User Accounts page from the Chronicall Homepage while logged in as a manager or administrator. Here you can reset any user account's password.
If you are an administrator and have forgotten your password, you will need to log in to the Chronicall / ACR server to reset the Administrator password.
- Log into a web browser from the Chronicall / ACR server, by entering http://localhost:9080/ into the address bar of Internet Explorer.
- If you specified a different webserver port while installing Chronicall / ACR, replace 9080 with that port
- Use the credentials below in the web browser session of Chronicall / ACR to log in
- username: recover
- password: recover
- Once you login to Chronicall / ACR, go to the User Accounts page and change the password for Administrator or any other user
- Again, this will only work from the Chronicall / ACR server, ensuring that only users who are able to log in to the Chronicall / ACR server can reset administrator passwords. This feature is included in all versions of Chronicall / ACR from 3.0(11) and up.
- Reset your password by navigating to the User Account(s) needing the password change
By default, the "Administrator" user accounts password is: password. If the password does not work for the Administrator user account, someone with administrator privileges has changed the password.
